A year ago today, the de Blasio administration announced the first of New York City’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates for employment. It required all New York City Department of Education (DOE) employees to provide proof of a first dose of vaccination by September 27th. Those who didn’t would be fired or put on leave without pay.
