Happy Thanksgiving from the New York Mandate Podcast & No One You Know

Thank you to everyone who has shared their stories, their perspectives, and their expertise. And thank you to everyone listening!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I hope you’re all having a wonderful holiday.

This Thanksgiving, I want to thank all of the people who have talked with me about the often very personal ways their lives have been affected by New York’s vaccine mandates.

It has been a very hard year for many of them, and many are still grappling with the personal and financial consequences of the mandates. Some are celebrating in a new place, after leaving New York. Some are separated from family. Most are looking back on a year of decisions they never thought they would be forced to make.

And thank you to the lawyers, too, for talking about the cases they’re working on and the fundamental principles and precedents that make New York’s vaccine mandates a vitally important issue for all of us.

I also want to thank everyone who has been listening, and I want to encourage you to share this podcast. Maybe you’re spending the holiday with people who don’t know much about how mandates are affecting people’s lives—or even that there still are vaccine mandates in place. Maybe they support mandates. You can bring them insight by sharing the stories on this podcast with them.

I shot the video at the top of the page for my reporting channel, NYC for Yourself, about a year ago. It’s from an anti-mandate vigil in Foley Square. A year later, vaccine mandates remain in place in New York. I’ll be continuing to cover their effects, and I hope you’ll all keep listening.

OK, time for dinner!

This Thanksgiving, consider sharing The New York Mandate Podcast with someone you know who doesn’t know how mandates are affecting others’ lives.
